What do the levels mean?
Level CEFR What to expect
0–10 A1 Single words, present tense only, no connectors.
11–25 A2 Simple present-tense sentences, basic connectors (and/but).
26–40 A2/B1 Past tense introduced, simple sequencing, embedded quotes.
41–55 B1 Subordinate clauses (that/which), modal verbs expand.
56–70 B1/B2 Passive voice, past perfect, longer subordinate chains.
71–85 B2/C1 Nuanced modality, idiomatic phrasing, varied register.
86–100 C1/C2 Near-native complexity, low-frequency vocab, stylistic variation.
